Ball tossing - the importance of getting a good serve

Welcome to Tennis Zest. I created this blog out of my love for tennis and also for friends who share the same passion. In brief, it was the other half who first introduced me to tennis about 3 years ago and since then, I have always wished that I had picked up the racket much earlier.

My first racket was one of those $50 Wilson ones you can get from the local store. I went with the boyfriend for hits with friends at the uni tennis court in Gippsland and eventually decided to take proper lessons after I fell in love with the sport.

When we moved down to Melbourne, the boyfriend somehow lost the desire to play and stopped for a year. At first I was getting coached under the Nottinghill Tennis Club in Glen Waverley. But then decided to switch to Monash Uni Clayton Tennis Club due to the callous and biased attitude of the coach. And I’ve got to say the move was a good one with the boyfriend getting back into tennis and also us getting to know some really good friends.

Tennis takes up most of our time and there are so many things about it that gets us excited easily. Sometimes I really think we are a tad too crazy about it.  But hey, everyone’s gotta have a hobby and having a sport as a hobby is good exercise too.

Anyway sorry for ranting so much! :P Back to the purpose of this blog – which is to invite all avid tennis players / fans to join us and share your little anecdotes on tennis. You can really just talk about anything under the sun about tennis. Maybe you’re a player and you have some valuable points to share? Maybe you’re a fan who idolizes a tennis player? Maybe you just bought new tennis accessories or joined a competition? We welcome you to blog all about it.

We are starting small for the moment and are only inviting those we know from the Monash Uni (Clayton) Tennis Club. But if you’re looking at this page and love this blog and would like to become an author, please feel free to send me an email to melchenyi@yahoo.com. We’ll never turn down any avid tennis fanatic who would like to join us. Till then, may the sun keep shining and the rackets keep swinging. :)

xoxo,

JuzMel
